A board, a blade, the day's fish.

A WebGL night scene built in three.js. Temple, red moon and falling maple, with the menu dropped into 3D content slots behind a custom preloader.

Katana Sushi & Ramen: A board, a blade, the day's fish.

A sushi bar, a ramen pot and a flat-top grill sharing one room is a hard thing to photograph and an easy thing to make look like every other restaurant template. So the site does not try to photograph it. It builds a place instead.

The hero is a real-time WebGL scene: a temple under a red moon, maple falling through the frame, lanterns holding the path. The restaurant's own copy and menu sit in content slots inside that scene rather than in a panel bolted beside it.

The preloader is part of the piece rather than an apology for it. It reads sharpening the knives while the scene compiles, which turns unavoidable load time into the first beat of the story.

What it does

  • Real-time three.js scene with a custom cursor and preloader
  • Menu and copy rendered into 3D content slots
  • Four scroll-mapped narrative beats
